Susan Teaches Generations of Students
Mrs. Susan Desrosiers, a third-grade teacher at Hanover Street School has spent over 30 years teaching the youth of Lebanon. She encourages her students to learn through their environment, often using nature and the community as her classroom. Her students do not just study a subject, they become it by writing scripts and acting out historical roles.
During remote learning, Mrs. Desrosiers couldn’t help but visit one of her students in person to ease their sadness of missing the school. Inspired by that visit, she and the rest of her colleagues worked together to deliver all the students’ work at the year’s end in person.
Mrs. Desrosiers ran the after-school drama program, providing hundreds of students with the opportunity to perform at the Lebanon Opera House. She created the Walk to School Program, which gave students the opportunity to walk safely to school with friends. When she isn’t at school, you can find her around the community, volunteering and supporting her city. Thank you, Mrs. Desrosiers for all that you do and for being a ‘Teacher Who Wows”.
