Thank a Teacher
National Teacher Appreciation Day falls on the Tuesday of the first full week of May each year. Teachers play an extremely important role in our children’s lives, and this past year more than ever, they’ve worked overtime… literally and figuratively! Let’s show them we care on their special day (or any day!). Here are a few of our suggestions.
- Purchase Supplies – Reach out to your teachers to see if they need any supplies before the school year wraps up. Many teachers create Wish Lists (like on Amazon) to make the purchase easy.
- Thank You Cards – A simple thank you card goes a long way. Sit down with your children to write out all the reasons why their teachers are the best.
- Goodie Baskets – Teachers love usable gifts! If you can, put together a basket of fun items they can use both in the classroom or at home such as: a new coffee mug, books, special pens, snacks, lotion (for all the hand sanitizer usage), or even gift cards!
- Buy Their Lunch – Reach out to them (phone or email) and offer to pay for their lunch that day. Deliver their order or place it to be delivered during their lunch break.
- Put In A Good Word – Teacher reviews happen in the Spring. Send a note to the principal or their supervisor, showering them with praise.
So many students experienced a year without in-person learning due to the pandemic. Our teachers showed up remotely, and continue to work hard now that schools are either hybrid or transitioning back to in person learning with the new safety protocols. Let’s let them know we appreciate them for all the hard work they do.
Thank you, Teachers!
